Chad Case - 5-10 165, OF, Clinton High School, Clinton, MS: A pre-season Clarion-Ledger Dandy Dozen selection last year. Also a second-team All-State selection last year. Ricky Lambert - 6-0 190, INF/P, Tishomingo County High School, MS: Lambert earned the Daily Journal Player of the Year honors last year after compiling a 7-2 pitching record with a 2.02 ERA. Jason Burkley - 6-2 200, INF/C, Nicholasville, KY: As a junior, he hit at a .555 clip with 37 RBI, 6 home runs and 14 stolen bases. This young man is considered by many as the most outstanding high school baseball player in the state of Kentucky, and we are proud that he will be attending Mississippi State University next fall." Ryan Carroll - 6-6 219, RHP/INF, Picayune, MS: Very highly recruited and should be an impact player early in his career according to Polk. Last year he was 7-2, 1.50 ERA, 83 Ks in 49.2 innings. Three no-hitters during his career.
Phillip Willingham - 6-0 185, 3B, Lucedale, MS: Outstanding infielder who played at Mobile, Al. last year. Batted .385 with 8 home runs and 31 RBI as a junior. Member of the USA Junior Olympic Team. Now living in Lucedale with his father.
Shaun Child - 5-10 160, LHP, Altamonte Springs, FL: As a junior, he posted a 4-1 record with three saves and a miniscule 0.76 ERA while striking out 40 batters in 27 innings.
David Shipps - 6-4 200, LHP, Venice, FL: As a junior, he posted a 1.83 ERA and averaged nearly a strikeout per inning.
Tanner Brock - 6-3 175, RHP, Altamonte Springs, FL: As a junior, Tanner posted a 5-2 record with two saves and an 0.98 ERA. He also fanned 55 batters in 44 innings. He was used primarily in a relief role.
Enrico Jones - 6-2 190, OF, Pascagoula, MS: Chose State over USM, Ole Miss, UNO among others. As a junior he hit .378, 3 home runs, 21 RBI and 17 stolen bases. Here's why he chose MSU: "I just thought Mississippi State was the best place for me to improve my skills. I've had some great coaches at Pascagoula that have helped me improve as a player and I think the coaches at MSU will be just as good. I also have a goal of playing in the College World Series and I think I can achieve that at Mississippi State. The coaches (at MSU) have given me indications that if I come in and do what is expected of me, I can play some role for them next year.
