A great chance to see some fine baseball talent. EMCC has several of the Golden Triangle's finest (Starkville, West Lowndes, New Hope, Caledonia, Immanuel, etc.) former players.
04/16/98 - The latest word on Meridian CC freshman pitcher Jeff Hunter is Ole Miss is really paying attention to him, or as I was told "hot on his trail." According to my source, Ole Miss will be at Meridian this Sunday checking out Jeff. I've seen this kid play. He has outstanding control with a mid-80's fastball, excellent curve and very good change-up.
04/07/98 - Former New Hope HS pitcher Jeff Hunter, who started for the first time this year, struck out 10 batters in a complete-game victory over Bossier Parrish CC. Jeff has now struck out 22 batters in 26 innings while walking only 2. Source: The Commercial Dispatch (Columbus, MS.)
04/03/98 - The word is Greenwood HS football players Kendrick Wise (6-2, 301, OL) and Gary Davis (6-1, 210, FB/LB) will both wind up at Ms. Delta CC.
04/03/98 - Ben Gay, possibly the top running back in the state of Texas this past year, has signed to play with Southwest Miss. CC. Ben had earlier signed with Baylor but will not qualify.

There is also a coaches clinic that will be held in conjuction with the All-Star game. Van Chancellor and Wimp Sanderson are the clinicians. It will be at 3 p.m. on Thursday. It is open to the public.
For those of you who are going to the All-Star game, take note of Choctaw Central's newly renovated facility. They spent approximately $2 million dollars renovating it. If you see Coach Wilson (Choctaw Central coach), let him know what you think about the facility.
Choctaw Central will also be hosting the 15U and 19U AAU Championship Tournament May 29th-31st.
